It is 02/01/2026. I've started my Trading journey with Topstep because of their rules and their deals. Practice consistency was my hook. Their system trained me well and I would not have had it any other way. So I'm grateful they gave me an effective course. However, I was also hooked by their deals. $50 to open a Combine in 2024, and then be provided a Rithmic account along with a Top of the book subscription. But as of the 2nd January 2026, this has changed. Topstep has finally revoked my Rithmic account, whilst informing me in August 2025, that they would not have any plans to discontinue any rithmic account provided by them. I am very disappointed and they did not inform me at all ahead of time that these changes will be made. I'm not sorry for leaving a 1 star review, the only reason I started with Topstep was because of their deals, their provided platforms, and their course. 2/3 of the mentioned above has been changed and has left me uninterested with Topstep, whilst their course is no longer of any use to me. they've had too many changes in the previous 4 months than they should've. It was too fast, too sudden. It's not reliable for my future with Topstep.

you know i really cut topstep some slack with the series of outages in december. usually youd expect compensation for those who blew their accounts as a result but come to find out they leave those traders on hold and tell them to come back in january for compensation and we're still waiting... now more recently ive met the 5 winning day of $150 or more requirement for payout eligibility and TOPSTEP pull another classic move of screwing their traders over. this time they make the payout button DISAPPEAR!!!!!!! honestly not surprised at this point. and to top it all off their support system is slow and give vague copy paste responses. guys with all the other firms in the space who are more trusted and give constant deals youre better off doing business with them. topstep dont deserve a single $ until they get their act straight.

Absolute dog crap. To be clear, I was NOT impacted by recent outages. What will enrage you about Topstep is paradoxically both their lack of communication and HOW they communicate. When you listen to the CEO speak it becomes clear that it is a systemic issue that starts at the top. I understand tech can have issues, I work in development but the number of issues AND stunning lack of communication or ownership over a platform they force everyone onto is baffling. Rather than immediately communicate there are issues they will sit until customer outcry is at a fever pitch, route you to support team that can take days to response only to treat you as if they are doing you a favor when looking into the issues with THEIR platform. Its as if their company vision starts and ends at "plausible deniability". Yes, eventually they might offer some sort of recompense but not without the customer base first feeling as if they had to twist Topsteps arm to get it. They released an update they talked about before. Did they announce it before it went live? No. It just went live. Many traders are reporting that they can not request payouts. Has Topstep put out official messaging addressing it? No. Mods in their discord can only offer that Topstep is aware of it and to contact support. Before they even updated to this new dashboard, I was screaming that they needed to fix the issues with their old dashboard which had a tendency to crash every other week. Now with the new dashboard its almost as if we're seeing that the fruit came from a rotten tree. I want to love Topstep but at some point they (the CEO especially) forgot that the only reason they exist is because of the customer. Topstep will be a business case study in how to destroy your own reputation. Do not take the recent 5 star reviews serious. It's clear those are planted. What dev in their right mind is going to write "lol tech issues. Am I right?"

Gabriel helped me so much. He got back to me do quick it caught me off guard, especially with the fact that it’s the 1st being a holiday season. He helped resolve my issue and prevented a future one all in under 60 minutes. Wonderful experience!

Don’t like being forced to use only project x. I don’t like the setup of it but would say I have had an average experience with them. Don’t like that I am charged for accounts that don’t show up on my dashboard but know a lot of people that trade of topstep.

Getting rid of other platform providers such as Rithmic was the worst decision Topstep ever made. ProjectX doesn't compare, is unstable, and untrustworthy. Waking up early on the west coast preparing for my work day just to experience platform issues is infuriating. Can't even use order flow tools on ProjectX, such as footprints and reading Delta. GARBAGE

Like others have mentioned, they removed all trading platform and forced its users to use their own platform, and when outages happened, people lose their accounts, profits. They didn't apologise, didn't compensate. Most recent was 2 days ago their dashboard was not synced, causing thousands of users not able to activate their passed combines, unable to make payout request and more. Still not fixed because of holidays and their shortage of staffs, short working hours. Their priority is not customer service and recovery period.

I joined Topstep expecting a professional and transparent prop firm experience, but it ended up being more frustrating than helpful. While the evaluation process looks clear at first, communication and support felt inconsistent when I actually needed help. Some rule enforcement felt rigid and unclear, and getting straightforward explanations wasn’t easy. That lack of clarity creates unnecessary stress for traders who are trying to trade responsibly. Overall, Topstep didn’t feel like the dependable long-term partner I was looking for. Trust and transparency are essential in a prop firm, and unfortunately, this experience didn’t give me confidence. Because of this, I’ve decided to start fresh in 2026 with a more reputable prop firm that offers clearer rules, better communication, and a smoother overall experience.

Thought it would be a good platform because of how large and popular it is had problems with the software topstepx many times and support would not be any help in reimbursing money I lost due to the platforms issues. I made an account on this just to make a review hope nobody else loses money

Please stay away from this since December 17 i didn’t get well enough assistance from support I had a balance of 10k and running profit of 4K during outages attached with video for evidence and sent to support team They escalated my ticket another team called level 2 now Still am not satisfied they gonna to forget it. I will show my video any trades and what happened to my account any one who catches me

I bought many accounts and the website goes down CONSTANTLY NONSTOP 2/10 for simplicity, besides that do not buy if your looking to start learning to trade. Almost every time in the mornings trading goes down.

I was copy trading 6 evals 5-50k and 1-150ki was 50$ away grom passing placed a trade it goes through I try and place a stop loss and it doesn't let me try again don't let me I try closing the position it doesn't let me all of a sudden within a millisecond price shoots down so much It hit max draw down limit making all accounts ineligible for funding this is the second time this has happened first when I was 150$ away from payout on 4 express accounts it crashed my 4 express accounts now when IM 50$!!!! AWAY FROM PASSING MY 6 EVALS I was trading while with a group at that time and it DID NOT HAPPEN TO THEM I fully believe THEY ARE A SCAM oh and I got it all on video because I was screen recording my session I wish I could post it here but it doesn't seem like I can

One of the worst prop firm, customer service and CEO. Took me a long time to slowly build up a 150K XFA account to $10,000 only to lose it due to platform freeze. Trent at Topstep acknowledged the outage, however, the customer service denied it and requested a video recording of the incident which I didn’t have. No where on the Topstep website it requires video recording and that is why I never recorded myself trading. In December 2025, there were three outages in one week. The CEO denied compensation and blamed outages on faster than expected growth. In other words, Topstep does not have the infrastructure capability to run all accounts and financially thin to compensate traders. It is clear to all traders that Topstep freezes platform once a week to avoid payouts. At this pace, Topstep will liquidate sooner than later.

Every time I tried a different propfirm I missed topstep. They are fast at processing payout, never refused them. Their support is very reactive and solves all issues I have… I’ve also got refund every time I forgot to disable a subscription. I’ve spent more than a year trading with topstep, and they are the industry leader for a good reason : they are the best.

I have been trading with Topstep for 2 years now and this year has been the year that I was able to get some payouts. Overall great experience with the dashboard and trading platform. Never any issues with payouts or customer support. Topstep support has always been responsive and able to resolve any minor issues I’ve had (Rachel gets a 10/10 for customer service) discord is fantastic, Topstep TV is awesome, twitter is great, MP is awesome too! Let’s go Topstep, Keep Jabbing!

I had a very good experience with TopStep, their team is responsible and thorough, and really made sure I understood how things worked. I've been learning and definitely made some mistakes, but they were understanding and supportive of traders who are learning and growing.

Topstep is the number propfirm in the game. Their UI is simple and yet professional. Everything l need especially like level 2 data wich is available through their platform X is amazing. Clear rules, never denied payouts, and on top of that, due to the AWS outage, though a global problem, the Topstep team came through for their customers giving free account for both combine and express funded. I love me my Topstep

I have been trading with TopStep for almost a year. I earned my Express Funded Account in July 2025 and was also able to take my first first payout in August. So far so good. I had adapted my trading to their platform TopStepX and was very comfortable with the setup. Then bad luck struck. I lost my XFA one day of volatile trading because of my own mistakes. I then bought a fresh Combine determined to do it again. This is where my problems started. They asked me for a KYC verification as part of the process (never asked for in my earlier purchase of the combine and even during the first payout I took ). Despite submitting multiple Government issued IDs, my KYC verification was rejected for reasons not known to me. They kept asking for my passport which had unfortunately expired and not acceptable to them. As they kept threatening to close my account, I requested them multiple times to accept alternate forms of ID available for now and give me time till the passport gets renewed. However, they did not relent and closed my account eventually while asking me to get back to them once the required ID proof becomes available. I find this attitude very high handed and unfriendly. Why could they not accept alternative form of ID which is widely acceptable in my own country for KYC (called Aadhaar) and insist only on an ID which would take time to renew? I love their platform and services and have no reason to complain otherwise, however, I find it very hard to digest that they simply closed my account without giving a proper reason why an alternate form of ID is not acceptable. Not done! You have lost my respect.

The best prop firm for me is Topstep, no tricky rules, if you make the profits you'll get paid, period, no grey areas. Is very rewarding and exciting to know that if you put the hard work you'll get paid. Thank you Topstep for making this a reality.

I love the UI. I think how my analytics are recorded are nice. I don’t like the activation fee to starting an express account. And the consistency rule once trading in an express account is annoying. I love topstep x and I love the community surrounding topstep. Great site.

I’ve been trading with TopStep and recently experienced firsthand how genuinely ethical and trader-focused this firm is. Earlier this week, a global AWS outage impacted many companies, including TopStep. Because of this, I was unable to trade for most of the day. Later that afternoon, when the systems came back online, I managed to make a tiny profit in my funded account. Unfortunately, the next day that profit had disappeared due to genuine restoration efforts. I raised the issue to TopStep and shared my frustration {Bruno and Team} — and I was genuinely impressed by how they handled it. They took full accountability even though the outage was completely outside their control, and as a gesture of goodwill, they rewarded me with additional funded accounts for each one that was affected. They didn’t have to do that — but they did. That level of integrity, transparency, and respect for traders really sets them apart. It’s clear that TopStep isn’t just about evaluating traders; they’re truly committed to supporting, encouraging, and motivating them to succeed. In an industry where trust is everything, TopStep has earned mine completely. Highly recommend them to any serious trader looking for a fair, ethical, and supportive prop firm.
