I have tried over the last 10 days to open an account with Saxo Bank. I live in Thailand, so a few things are a bit trickier than if I was living in Switzerland. At the same time, I applied for accounts with Swissquote and WISE. Within four days, the latter two opened an account for me. But Saxo Bank sent me one email after the other, asking for more and more supporting material. Not sure if they have AI handle these opening account requests or some staff in Bangalore. But I really felt like in Huxley's "Brave new World": you have this anonymous "thing" dictating conditions and allowing you to reply with max. 200 letters. Impossible to actually talk to someone. I decided, NOT to open an account with them, for this application process gives me an indication of how it would be to deal with Saxo if you have an issue as a customer: stonewalling AI chatbot, utter lack of solution focus. No thanks! Update as per 11 December 2025: Saxo Bank responded on Trustpilot in a record 12 hours (any normal communication with them took at least 48 to 72 hours). They can't even find an application in my name, how incredible is that? Well, I responded to them on their complaint platform. The automatic response is as follows: "Acknowledgement Thank you for making your submission. If your submission is in relation to a complaint, we aim to investigate the matter and respond within 5 weeks. However, depending on the nature and complexity of the matters raised, we may require additional time and/or refer the matter to the appropriate Saxo Bank team." Need I add any other comment to make my point in this bank being an utter nightmare, when it comes to communicating with them? Imagine a situation where you are their customer and have a problem with your account or their platform.....no thanks!

saxo service personnel is very responsive - you can count on them to respond to you promptly!
Closed account back in Dec. 2023....said they no longer do business in the jurisdiction of the account after 15 years open. Force liquidated positions. Cost about 345K now in unrealized gains mostly in Silver. It was such a pleasure the almost year long process of "renewal" back in 2019 after being a customer for at least ten years. Turns out that was all for not as the company then decided to ditch their customers in 2023 from certain jurisdictions. A complete waste of time and resources for everyone involved.
Eirik did a great job of walking me through the sign up process. With his help I was able to solve a somewhat complex problem in that I did not fit the usual protocols.
The customer support agent was polite and able to resolve my issues quickly.

Money was taken from my account which I have closed without my consent. Saxo sent an email in late September highlighting the charge starting in November if I did not remove the balance on the account. In October I tried to take the money out but I could not do so, I escalated and then was told try again, still I could not withdraw it. This dragged into November and I still could not withdraw the money. But Saxo took the money none the less and refuse point blank ton refund it. As a result I will be closing another account there as the client service and respect for the client is terrible.

The saxo go app is so easy to use, even for an idiot like me! The support service they provide is excellent, both on the app and importantly on the phone as well. They are available at all times of the day, which is so useful. I received live support on the phone with a wonderful guy called Hadi. He gave me an hour of his time to guide me through a small issue that needs resolving. I'm old so I like to talk to a human and I'm very lucky to have spoken to Hadi. His English skills were perfect even with very technical words. And his knowledge and advice was perfect as well as his friendly character. Thank you so much!

I have a trading account with them. They generated a temporary account for a stock that was not anymore eligible to my plan. Until then no problem, they sold it. Without any notice, they started charging interests on a temporary account that they generated for the sale of this stock. I called several times to close this account and the customer service told they will deal with it. Nothing, And they know ask to pay for interests I am not responsible for. Not a single consideration of the time I spent to get it closed. They simply don't care. To be avoided.

An enjoyable evening event, not quite what I expected (smaller number of invitees) but more intimate and wide ranging presentation, questions and social discussion. Good to know other users have similar experiences and Saco are keen to get feedback.
