Stay the hell away from these people. I opened an account and tried to transfer a 6 figure sum in and it disappeared off the face of the earth for weeks. I still haven't gotten it back. IBKR said, essentially, "we could care less. Take it up with your sending bank." I don't think I've had worse support anywhere ever. I'll be filing a regulatory complaint against them no matter what kind of a pain in the neck it is to do so. ALSO note that nearly every positive review here looks bought from a review farm or bot-created.

Both the customer service and the internal processes are extremely cumbersome and ineffective, even for very simple issues. If an account is not approved, no explanation is provided. Customer support is almost entirely limited to chat, making it very difficult to receive real or meaningful help. In addition, funds can be transferred but then effectively left in limbo when an account is not approved.

Very shity and shady onboarding! the platform itself you just wont understand without paying someone to teach you. their support sucks, their chat is an AI bot that literally ignores your questions. and the last drop for me was when they started spamming me with emails about products. I'm withdrawing today and highly recommend you try it and write a review. these platforms should not have thr name they have. another glitch on google

If anyone else besides me has been seeing an issue where the deltas are not showing as they should, and a decrease in funds for unexplained reasons. Please reach out. I have done a live stream using 2 different brokers. The same trades. On IBK, I am losing money, but with the other, I gain. I called them, and from the sounds of the background, they have a host of issues. I moved my money and closed the account. Now I have an attorney looking into the situation.

Stay away from IBKR, they currently implemented a 2 Factor authorization with a QR bar code that does not work and is faulty, they claim that if it does work, your access to the account would be facial recognition or fingerprint only, just another Digital ID enforced implementation to scan and own your most private possession no different that the Police owning your mugshot or fingerprints in their data records. As of now I already have a 2 factor implemented with SMS message, but they claim that is no longer an option. They are doing this to ban access to your funds, money and trading for a reason, because they want to short markets if no trading can be executed by retail. Crooks

I have been an Interactive Brokers UK client for three years, and the experience has been consistently disappointing. Despite multiple requests for support, the services I needed were never properly provided. Issues that should have been straightforward have remained unresolved for years, with no meaningful progress. After formally lodging a complaint, I expected at least a basic level of engagement. Instead, I received no response at all. The complete lack of follow-through reflects a service culture that appears indifferent to client concerns. Interactive Brokers UK has demonstrated an unacceptable service level, and based on my prolonged experience, I cannot recommend them under any circumstances. One star is generous.

If you are canadian, don't put the rrsp here, they do not currently have RRIF set up. Otherwise I am pretty happy with the level of service and answerimg queries.

I've been trying to open an account for over 2 years. No customer service. No emails received. Nothing. Not even a bot! I've switched to other platforms, obviously. It's shameful, and they claim to be the best. Avoid them! My sincere advice.

It’s a rubbish interface. Overly complicated. Very very poor and slow responses from their message centre help. Woeful product overall. Main merit is wide range of assets that are tradable. Nothing else is compelling. Customer service support is very poorly qualified.

I love the IBKR platform, everything is very eady to understand and monitor and if you have any question, replies are always easy to understand and actionable, no matter if you use ticket or live chat. But usually the bot rightly solves 95% of the issues.

Generally a good service, with reasonable fees, easily-customizable charts and response time to tickets was quick - until the AI bots arrived. :-( My only real issue is trade alerts are sent as email-to-SMS, technology that major phone companies are discontinuing Dec 31st. I really think IB really should upgrade to sending via direct SMS, as was done by my previous broker.

Reaching a human in support is difficult. The system defaults to a bot and large FAQ pages, while chat and phone options are hidden and slow to respond. Login depends entirely on the IBKR Mobile app. If the app is not installed or not registered, the website does not say so — it keeps showing “notification resent” and you cannot access your account. That alone is enough for 1/5 rating, as when you want to login to execute one of your rare long-term bets - by then it's understandable you don't remember all the details - and it looks 100% like a bug. The app is a joke, it's basically interface to web, I'm pretty sure. Likely why I deleted it The interface is slow and complicated. Simple actions require many steps, and information is split across multiple sections. Deposits and FX conversions are not displayed clearly. Cash appears in the balance but not in any straightforward deposits or trade history view, which makes verification hard. The secure message center is hard to find and not consistent with the instructions given in alerts. Marketing the platform as an options provider — then denying you access without explanation — is disingenuous. Just take my money already or stop wasting my time. And wasting time it is - setting up an account is multi-hour myriad-step process. Low fees do not excuse this level of friction when dealing with money access and authentication.

Pros: overnight trading available, low interest on margin Cons: very bad customer service (lack of knowledge), not easy to get help when needed and the worst of all is the worst accounting mistakes: always make mistakes on cost basis. For example: I submitted MAX ST Gain as method on sale, IBKR shows a gain on its Statement Activity but loss on Transaction. I need to file new ticket to have the issue corrected for each time if I use other methods instead of FIFO. It always shows errors! And sometimes when I filed tickets, the response can still be not correct because the staff who responded didn’t investigate the issue but responded carelessly so I have to file again to have it corrected. It really wastes a lot of my time! Even the margin interest is low, but it causes me to pay a lot extra taxes and waste my time to file amend returns. It’s not worth it. I will exit this terrible company next January. I can’t leave now because I have been waiting for IBKR to correct the mistakes they made. After everything goes back to the right track, I will transfer all my assets in IBKR to another brokerage as soon as possible!

Customer support is effectively absent. Everything leads to chatbots and FAQ pages, and live help appears to be a feature that simply doesn’t exist. Onboarding shouldn’t feel like solving a coded riddle, but that’s exactly what it turns into. If funding an account is already this complicated, it raises serious questions about how difficult withdrawals or any urgent issues might be. For a platform handling actual money, the lack of direct human support is unacceptable.

the only good thing is the tight spreads. Otherwise it's a terrible broker. It mades your life impossible due to endless rules, specially if you don't have a huge account. oh and btw, their pc app is TERRIBLE If I had another alternative, I would dump them like a rock

Overall, this brokerage company is among the best there is. Fair, open, transparent, and helpful when you need them. I have been using their services for over 3 years now, and the reports they provide make tax filing easy, their platform makes trading easy, and their communications keep you constantly informed. So, overall, I am very satisfied and will continue using their services. Recently I had a problem with my authentication and called their technical support, and was given outstanding service. The agent was helpful, professional, and got me back into the system with everything corrected and even improved. I like whenI know I can count on good service when I need it.

I nagged them for years to make UK ISA's available. I opened one immediately. Then I wished I hadn't. They charge a fee just for the privilege of having the account, and don't allow you to transfer positions out. Horribly inflexible company, clunky apps & website. Poor customer service. They used to be cheap, but not any more.

Everything was goind well with my trading on this broker's platform until when I got this tsrange behavior from the support crew.I asked some questionsThey responded to one,and then they left me waiting for like an hour or so.Then they got back and gave feedback but unclear.When I clarified my question-they didn't respond for even longer time.This is weird.Although I enjoyed TWS.
