I opened an account in UAE, transferred 30k through fast transfer option and spent 3 days in chasing them to reflect the funds in my account. Waited 24 mins on phone, wrote 3 emails and still no luck

I looked around for what I thought was a good financial platform and applied to IG. A delay followed as they said they were checking my details. After a day or so, I get an email asking if I had been in a political or government position (the answer was no), if I had any civil or criminal prosecutions (no again) and, finally, if I had any connections to Cory Booker. I am British but do follow world affairs and so assume they were talking about the Democrat senator who seems a decent sort of fellow. But I do not know him and have not been to the US for over 20 years. Anyway, this all was a very odd response to get. I clearly want nothing to do with IG after this, but what on earth has Cory Booker done to get on their wrong side?

After being told the transfer of shares would be in my account on the Thursday the shares never materialised. On Friday I spoke to someone at IG who promised to get back to me the same day but no one did and as of today Sunday, the shares still do not show in my account. Disappointing!

I have traded with this company for many years with no problem's but now I am making some profit with my spread bets they have recently refused to close my positions when in profit saying due to market moves unable to accept order, but as soon as the trade is in a loss it will close easily. I have lost all trust with them.

ıG used to look like a good platform, but the hidden costs are ridiculous. The spreads and exchange rate differences are killing profits, they take 1% when buying and another 1% when selling. That’s insane. I aimed for 5% gains, but weekly trades just disappear into their fees. With around £100k volume this year, IG earned way more from me than I did. A total waste. I’m switching soon. Good only for beginners who don’t know better.

Good interface and availability of trading options, although navigation isn’t always super easy. I’ve been trying to do a simple ISA transfer in for almost two weeks now, and it’s been slow and confusing and I’ve had to provide forms and information four times. I’m still not sure if they’re actually going to get it done.

Great way to waste money. Card reviewing takes ages and haven't been able to withdraw. I would avoid - especially spread betting.

My initial impression was positive, but that did not last long. IG Trading has great potential. But this is coupled with some serious flaws, On the upside, the app is great, the information is clear and fairly easy to access and is comprehensive allowing you to make informed choices. However, there is room for improvement. There is an excellent selection of markets on IG, and their fee structure is very competitive. Though beware of the costs associated with inactivity and more so with smart portfolios - as these could be crippling for the unitiated small time trader. On the downside, their systems are outdated and convoluted resulting in overcomplication for novice traders who will be put off by the inconsistences. So, on to my 3 star experience.... Upon verifying (eventually) and funding my account I commenced trading. After a month of using the exchange, I decided to open up a crypto account on their platform. This was the beginning of my problems. While waiting for the account to be confirmed, the system decided I needed to verify all over again. This in itself is not the end of the world, however annoying, but unfortunately the verification system broke and I could not verify. After waiting a week or more I decided to contact support. After fighting with the bot for far longer than necessary, it finally gave me advice on how to contact a human (it was not nearly forthcoming enough for what I considered was a in important matter). It gave me an email address to send documents to. This turned out to be wrong and so I ended up wasting more time waiting for a reply that never came. Frustrated by now, I tried again to contact a human, and was rewarded with a phone number. Upon contacting them, their customer service went above and beyond to help. Sadly though, it was not the end of my problems, it was only the beginning. My initial problem was due to some sort of issue with the verification system which had to be fixed by their technical team. Once done, I resubmitted documents, and waited for my approval. However, it turned out I was still locked out of using the crypto account and had issues with funding. I got back to their support who were nonplussed as to what the issue was at first, but it turned out the crypto account was actually corrupted. So, they deleted it and I had to reapply. Fortunately I did not have to verify again. Everything seemed to be going well. and soin the mean time, I carried on trading on my other subaccounts. When I was ready to use and fund the 'new' crypto subaccount I went to fund it but the funding still wouldn't work and I could not even transfer funds into it from my other subaccounts as they appeared to be exclusive of one another. I didn't pay too much heed at first, and just continued trading on my working accounts. Then, one quiet day I decided to check out the crypto markets on the exchange... ...I then discovered I could not access the account's trading window - AGAIN! I must clarify at this point, that not only am I an experienced trader who has traded digital currecies for over a decade, but have more than a passing familiarity with using software and hardware on a plethora of platforms and am academically qualified as such. So it may come as no surprise that I tried multiple hacks and fouhd I had the same issues on other browsers and with the app (all along I might add). Nor is this the only issue I have faced. So, in summation - since joining: * I have had complicated verification AND technical issues and and an obfuscated help service. * I was rewarded by the wrong promo and though this was a little confusing it wasn't a big deal. * I have found issues with withdrawing via apple pay (which demands odd minimums, sometimes your entire available fund), +My apple pay card is duplicated on the withdrawal page with no option to remove one. * When using the exchange I found that not all trade orders (from anyone) are actually shown in the order book and don't even necessrily get traded to (despite being there). * You're quite limited on how low or high you can place a trade order relative to the market price. * The inaccuracy of rounding limitations in some markets is extremely annoying and on some markets amending orders can lead to rounding errors which force you to instead repost. * I found what I consider to be security vulnerabilities by requiring you to store multiple accounts of your personal data unnecessarily. So, after some negative experiehces and a loss of patience in tolerating major flaws, it brings me great sadness to say this, but, I have decided to conduct my trading elsewhere for now.

The trading is okay, but the tax report is always sent at the last possible minute. The end of the financial year is June 30 and the ATO deadline is Oct 31. Most companies get it sorted by the end of July, but not IG. It sends the tax reports on Oct 27, giving me just 4 days to get my tax return in, meanwhile they took three months just to report on some share dividends. Their support staff promised that it would be done by Oct 20, so they didn't even meet their own delayed deadline.

Query was when I get my £6000 back which I accidently transferred to IG on 25/10 (last Saturday). Did withdrawal request same day which was immediately acknowledged. I gave my account details. First he said I had requested a withdrawal of £100. This was over 3 months ago and was actioned at that time. So he is not looking at the proper amount or date. He locates the £6000 and says I missed the cut off of 12.00 noon today. But I already told him I made the request on Saturday and if he looked at my account properly he would have seen that. This is typical of my experience with these outsourced call centers. They don't check things properly, they say the first thing that comes into their head and hope you go away. There is just no effort. Half the time they just give scripted answers. If IG is going to use these call centers then at least you should train the people properly. Furthermore, your chat bot called 25th October Friday when it was Saturday, and called today (Monday) the 28th October. Just what the hell is going on with your customer service. I was debating whether I should switch from Saxo Capital Markets . This experience has put me right off.

I have been trading with IG markets for a number of years now, and i have always found them to be very professional, and helpful. On the few occasions I have had a problem or query, they have been quick to respond. I would highly recommend IG markets.

I had been with IG for many years but their app and service has declined a lot. I recently tried to withdraw money from my stock ISA account but they would not process the funds. Looking to move my trading account to another broker now.

Do not trust ! My experience using this broker has been horrible with no payout, Things were completely different with ve lours blancs They recoup all my thousands back for me.

Announcing that me and 4 other Traders have left IG for good because of their pathetic system. Charts are not visible whilst high volume. For instance, it happend twice in last 2 days where we could NOT open nor could we close our existing postions in GOLD. Other day it happend with Natural GAS chart If you are serious traders stay away from IG platform. RIP IG

Do not trade with them, they are scammers, they hedge ever trade i have the proof and will be taking them to court, noticed how the markets/ gold are at all time highs ? due to their hedging against big bets :) there spread accounts and cfds are rigged

Been waiting for these cowboys, to sort out my conduity capital shares. The company went into liquidation a couple of years ago, and the liquidators made an in-species share distribution, of 0.01067989 of a Smarttech247 share, for every conduity capital share held at close of business, 29 April 2025. I wrote to tell these cowboys what to do/ who to chase, as they haven't got a clue. The last reply was that 'Citi group' are the ones dealing with this, on their behalf, and they have not heard anything from them. Smarttech shares were 8.5p at the time of liquidation, now they're 3p something. My other share dealers, sorted this issue straight away, but no, not these useless cowboys. Stay away from this lot, if you want to keep your sanity and money safe.

The support team is helpful however IG are well behind when it comes to the user interface and user experience. Also there are restriction that appear sometimes preventing investment.
