Trying to deposit funds into a new crypto account, but declining payment method even though other trading accounts work fine. Contacted a member of the team who after 15mins could not determine what was the cause of the problem. He stated that he would call me back in 30 - 45 mins...I still have not received a call after 3hrs

Multiple issues and the whole thing feels very old fashion. You can't buy fraction of shares, you have to keep uploading documents for verification when wanting to withdraw (but are happy to take your money aka deposit without any verification), there's a manual process to buy US stocks, promotions are not very clear etc. There are better options out there so I am moving to Trading 212 for ease and piece of mind. No point wasting more time on this

I am a newbie (since 3 months back) and became worried about confusing data showing on the (Android) app for my GIA account. Access to contacts for help is not obvious (on the app, fine on Windows web site). Eventually tried email, live chat and chatbot and really got no advice beyond - send an emai. Live chat may have been working but delays are so long its difficult to tell. Chatbot seemed offline or maybe hung. Tried phone 0800 number; very long delays, but phoneback evenually worked but the call dropped out. IG did call back so kudos. But no actual help as by this time the actual ac holder (who I assist) had to be elsewhere. Tried again on 0800. That worked a charm, no queue. Immediate assistance. I had two issues: IG had given me some shares (but without any explanatory comms) and I was advised to reinstall the app on my Android. So all solved and I am now a happy bunny. However, if I had been a scam victim I would have been really distressed by the difficulty in getting in touch with IG. Maybe a reserved tel no for a scam line. Also, upfront advice to use 'registered' email and phone when contacting support (may have caused issues for me).
Used to be good but they've stopped giving SP Quotes prior to purchasing a share which has left me looking for an alternative provider!

Twice I have been unable to access my account due to IG. Initially, they changed my login details without any notification - from my email address, to a username that they had assigned me, but never actually provided me. I was locked out of my account all weekend, worrying that it had been hacked! Now, today, they have opened a second account, that I did not request or apply for, and I now cannot access the funds in my original account, until I accept the terms of this new account, that I don't want!! I AM NOT IMPRESSED. Now they are telling me that I have to email them to close the account (that I did not apply for) and wait up to 3 days before that gets actioned - all the while, I cannot access my other account!! IS THIS A JOKE!?Also, when dealing, there is no price record of what I paid for an asset in the trading history - just a date and the amount of the transaction - so I have no way of knowing historically, what price I paid. POOR, POOR, POOR.

Found IG fab to deal with, simplicity of opening account friendly, professional staff. Highly reccomended!!
IG stack the cards in their favour. You can buy ETF positions and hold them and if the ETF provider consolidates holdings and you don’t have enough to cover the consolidation - say a 10 to 1 conversion etc, and you hold 6 or 8 or 9, IG will close and take your funds as they will not do fractional reserve splits, yet the etf company gives IG the fractional reserve. Be extremely wary of investing in ETF’s with this company because IG will not advise you of any impending share splits or reverse share splits because this is obviously where they make a lot of money. Do not enter trades in ETF CFD’s in many positions to dollar cost average into it. You WILL LOSE TO IG as they will take the position and fractional reserves. All stacked in their favour!
This company one of only a few prepared to go to trouble to help transfer shares held offshore in registrar holding back to uk. Service clear what was needed and advise will be completed in 3 days. Will for sure stick with this company
I phoned IG trading customer service today, they take time to answered all my questions. Great customer service.
The IG AI agent assured me that IG could handle and transfer in shares from New Zealand. I opened and funded an account, lodged a transfer form only to be told a week later that IG cannot hold NZX shares. Very pleased that my small cash opening balance wasn’t used to buy anything so at least I can exit.

They don’t keep their word. I have signed up during the promotion period for the first time through their ads. In their ads it was mentioned that I will be receiving $100 in my account after my first trade of at least $90. I have signed up through their live ads and met all conditions. When I checked with their team why my bonus was not credited, they mentioned that I was late as they have limited spots which was already filled. I do understand, you may have limited promotions, however if the offer was exhusted, why the ad was still live?? The is misleading and I don't trust this company at all.

sent emails out to uodate details but nowhere on website or app that can be updated. called them and spent 25mins and was lied to as they already have all relevent details. call handler didn't have a clue and clearly just started to argue.
Website charts are ok. Tried to transfer anew listed ASX share and they aren't prepared to do so without a reason. Disappointing as I have had shares for many years with them. May have to find another broker
Frequently unable to log in, or screens wont load once logged in, especially if something meaningful is happening the markets - unworkable as a trading platform as you can't access it at the most important times / when you really need it.

I contacted customer service several times about their L2 platform giving useless trade history info (it is now impossible to classify by date and missing trades), they always say they will look into it, and they have done nothing! and not even contacted me about progress. This has been going on for months, their L2 trade history is now useless. Very displeased.
I made a few mistakes when setting up my account (I am dyslexic) and when I realised I rang the company. The person who helped me was excellent and patiently talked me through everything, sorting out my mistakes and giving me guidance on how to use it. Thank you so much.

IG is fine for long-term investing but not for trading. They have frequent technical issues, slow system updates, and delays of up to four hours to fix problems that other platforms resolve within an hour. Their complaint process is outdated, and even with clear proof, they don’t accept their mistakes. It’s reached the point where I’m considering taking legal action.

I've spent > 5 hours writing, calling, chasing and jumping through ludicrous hoops with IG to try and get a sizeable amount of ISA cash transferred from them to another provider. This should be quick, easy and simple, instead it's taking weeks and I still don't have my money. IG are essentially holding my money hostage, refusing to let it go, but of course dressing that up with excuses of procedure and process. If your time is important to you, there are a market full of ISA providers that you could go with, so I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. Transferring my money out of HL was a breeze. A night and day difference. I'm only transferring providers as I sold shares in ISAs with HL and IG and wanted to move the money to a cash ISA and neither IG or HL had a suitable one. HL will get future business from me in a heartbeat. Meanwhile, anyone who asks me, I'll tell them to avoid IG like the plague. Financial services are about returns, service but also trust. Whatever you do, don't trust IG. EDIT - I'm now up to 7 hours effort expended, over a month of time elapsed and still don't have my ISA transferred. IG's reply to my review below neatly ignores the fact that HL managed to transfer my ISA smoothly and efficiently. I suggest that future potential customers reading this don't forget that when you're choosing an ISA provider. IG's own customer support line acknowledge that there are issues with the IG transfer team. Finally, on a slightly related note since other reviewers have taken issue with IG's trading interface. I accept and appreciate that IG give disclaimers around reduced liquidity in after hours trading sessions and so orders may not fill. I sent in a sell order at $18.50 for shares that then spent 2 hours above this price in the extended session in the $18.50-$18.70. They never sold and I executed at $17 the next day, losing $1,200 vs selling at $18.59. Again, I appreciate the caveats placed prominently by IG on extended hours trading, so I wouldn't have mentioned it if I wasn't having epic ISA transfer issues and a quick skim of IG reviews showed lots of other people having trade execution issues.

Urgent WARNING! Money frozen without evidence Please think very carefully before choosing this broker! A close friend of mine is a professional trader and has made very high profits with IG Markets. When he wanted to withdraw his money (approx. €140,000), his account was blocked. The excuse was that he had engaged in unauthorized spread betting. However, IG Markets has no evidence of this. His money has now been frozen for more than 5 years! PLEASE DO NOT choose this broker. A criminal complaint will be filed shortly and an article will be made viral. The company is reliable and provides a good service but their mobile app is outdated and provides limited functionality. The user experience isn't great compared to other financial services apps.
I don’t know how this company even functions. The company’s communication is unclear and repetitive — they request evidence of savings, but even after providing 2 bank statements, they ask for you to confirm your savings. They ask for evidence of earnings-you send a payslip then they ask what your earnings are. Their verification process feels unnecessarily complicated and redundant. Waste of time and effort.
The trading platform is great. Easy to use and fairly intuitive. The issues are around the extortionate commission on US names. Typical broker charge is $0.05 and IG charge $15 min. Also they have a very thin capacity around shorting of US names. Being told to trade larger sizes by the customers services rep wasn’t exactly helpful when already trading a high risk product.!! Reduce your commissions and you will see far greater long term returns as you’ll stop eating into your customers profits that prevent longer term success in an already high failure rate of customers.
