Several users describe platform and execution issues including greyed-out buy/sell buttons during trades, orders not appearing or executing in the order book, restrictive order limits, rounding errors, problems transferring between subaccounts, and specific payment withdrawal bugs (e.g. Apple Pay/card review delays). Complaints also cover high or hidden costs (wide spreads, exchange fees and inactivity/smart portfolio charges) and very late tax reporting. There are reports of GDPR/data deletion failures and claims of scam-like behavior by some users, while a few customers praise individual support staff who resolved issues quickly. A number of reviewers say third-party recovery services (named by reviewers) successfully retrieved funds on their behalf. Overall, experiences range from “great platform and useful markets” to “avoid — unreliable and stressful,” with repeated warnings to be cautious and persistent when dealing with support, funding and withdrawals.

I joined Base specifically in response to the advertised $100 AUD cash promo. After joining, I was told over the phone that the promotion had already ended, while the same $100 cash promo continues to be actively advertised on Facebook. This is misleading, as the advertising clearly suggests the offer is still available. Continuing to promote an offer that the company knows is no longer accessible to new customers is unfair and deceptive. Had I known the promotion was already over, I would not have joined under those terms.

Buying and selling shares couldn’t be any easier or any cheaper than with IG. Easy initial funding of ac, good trading interface with additional information to hand through the app sub menus. Pretty quick funding back to ac after a transaction releasing your funds early for more trades unlike some High St Bank offerings. Theres zero cost on asx trading unlike some High St bank apps that ask near $20 to buy and the same to sell. IG also is integrated with Pro real Trading so if you trade in higher more complex situations like algo trading this company has you covered. Additionally these guys just don't want to see you fail so if you want to trade CFD’s you have to demonstrate some knowledge through their website and a small test of knowledge before they let you trade, to me thats ethical and the right thing to do

Customer service is lacking. Slow to respond, unhelpful, and a very obvious "computer says no" mentality. Hard to justify their fees given some of the (free) competition they're up against. I trade and invest quite a bit and whilst their software is excellent, their unwillingness to help undermines it. Pity as I really wanted to use them.

Awful platform and customer service. Spent almost 2 hours talking to customer service for them to send me the manual form for a cash ISA transfer. Diano left the chat with no notice as his shift ended apparently and Akshay also did not seem competent.

First time I am using a share trading platform in UK, very easy to use and customer support is also very good. Strongly recommend IG.

Hours wasted on basic login issue. Three different call takers in space of an hour, I wouldn't bother.

Its taken 40mins to answer a call, lost few hundreds in that process, whilst waiting to make deal, as wouldn't let me trade online (common problem).. they block your account without informing you, when i got put through, the guy at IG put me through to dealer who i waited for 30mins, so they said we'll call you back in that process i lost another few hundred pounds..IG has lost its credibility, my mistake for giving them another try after 5yrs..

Signed up for one of their offers and they then made it impossibly hard to get it. Starting with their bot claiming to not know it existed and their site not having it up anymore to check. Site in general is a mess to use and doesn't seem designed to be clear at all.... I got the brush off at every level and I can't see how you can trust them with your money.

I got help from Mr.Eugenio from the italiandesk. I was asking for clarifications on multiple aspects of the fiscal management of my IG accounts. Mr. Eugenio clarified all aspects in a short time and also suggested the best way to proceed in the future to get all information I may need. The answers were all fast and exhaustive. Good job.

I have been using IG for over five years and always considered them a reliable, well‑regulated UK broker. Their platform is solid, execution is good, and although they have always been slightly more expensive than competitors, the stability and FCA oversight made it worthwhile. However, since late December 2025, IG’s overnight funding charges have increased to a level that is genuinely shocking for retail traders. What used to be a manageable cost has turned into a daily deduction that can wipe out profits even on well‑managed positions. For example, IG is now charging £17.90 per night for just 5 gold CFD £1 contracts. That means if you are holding 15 contracts, you are paying £53.70 every single night, regardless of whether your trade is in profit. This structural change that makes swing trading on IG extremely difficult. With these funding rates, retail traders DO NOT stand a chance unless they are trading with a six‑figure account. The costs eat the account faster than the market can move. I strongly advise any retail trader, especially those trading gold or FX CFDs to get clear, written clarification on overnight funding before opening positions. Don’t assume the charges will be similar to previous years. They won’t be. After years of loyalty, I am extremely disappointed. IG is still a reputable broker, but the overnight funding structure in its current form is simply not competitive and can eat into your account far faster than most traders realise.

I signed up with refer a friend deal, I have not been compensated as suggested for 10 weeks, staff don't follow their on T&C and keep going in circles, terrible customer service.

My assistant was great. Very patient, clear and knowledgeable. Excellent people skills. My only criticism was that I had to wait on hold for 30 minutes listening to the same 2 sentences talking about IG over and over

ig markets is a scam they manipulate their charts that don't match up to actual charts. I'm a a experienced trader if 20 years, they also make it very difficult to withdraw your money but super simple to deposit money.

I was able to set up my account easily even though I don't have a smartphone like most people. The website is user friendly and enjoyable to use. The trading platform is also very good and I was able to place a trade very easily and so far everything is working as it should. I like it!

Trading on IG has been a pleasant surprise. The CS is doing a phenomenal job, even if there are any minor delays with any query, they keep you in the loop constantly. This gentleman Mr. Baranitharan Shanmugavel at the CS team chased my issue himself and resolved it, the best part I didn’t even need to send follow up emails.
