The British Columbia Securities Commission published an Investment Caution List warning on July 22, 2022, stating that BtcMarketCap claimed offices in Australia, Canada, and Germany and offered accounts for trading forex, stocks, and cryptocurrencies.
The same BCSC notice states that BtcMarketCap accepted British Columbia residents as clients but was not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in British Columbia. The regulator urged BC residents to exercise caution when dealing with the firm.
